Gen 1 and Gen 2 are terminologies used to differenciate the first generation interior design of the Tesla Model 3 and Y from the second generation interior design.
These are relevant for compatibility reasons. Gen 1 products only fit Tesla Model 3 & Y Gen 1 interior and Gen 2 products only fit Tesla Model 3 & Y Gen 2 interior.
